Helpful tips and answers to commonly asked questions to assist you :)

1
Do I get to choose the types of flowers in my bouquets/arrangements/buckets?
Yes! I want you to love your flowers and to include as many of your favorite blooms as possible. I'll work with you to let you know what is in season/available during the time of your wedding and event and what is within your budget to help you know what to expect. Please keep in mind that sometimes certain blooms are not available and substitutions may need to be made - I will substitute flowers of similar style, color and value in those cases.
2
How many buckets of blooms do I need to make my own arrangements?
This depends! What size container are you using? Is the opening of the mouth very wide on your vases? How full or minimal do you want your designs to be? One bucket will likely allow you to fill 6-8 mason jars or 20-30 bud vases for reference. Don't forget the greenery! Greenery can be a great way to add lushness and texture to arrangements and help stretch your budget. The more info you share with me, the better I can assist with your order! Please keep in mind that I am not responsible if you have too many or too few blooms but I promise I'll do my best to help you as best as I can.
If you're really unsure of how many flowers you'll need for your centerpieces or bouquets, we recommend you do a "mock up" using flowers from your garden or grocery store (Trader Joe's for the win!). Count the number of blooms you use and times it by the number of arrangements you need. Make sure to pad the number to leave room for any stems that break during transport or any mistakes you make while designing your flowers (whoops, cut that stem too short!!).

What supplies will I need to create my own wedding flowers?
My go-to tools when designing for a wedding are a good sharp pair of scissors, garden clippers (felco are my favorite!), floral tape or chicken wire (to help add structure to your vase arrangements), floral glue and floral wire for delicate personal pieces (corsages, flower crowns), pins for boutonnieres. rubber bands and ribbon to bind bouquets, fresh running water and a cool/protected space. One of the biggest things your flowers will need is a cool storage place until the wedding. Avoid direct sunlight and air conditioning is ideal! Make sure to place all corsages, flower girl baskets, flower crowns and boutonnieres in a fridge (as long as the temp stays above freezing). Make sure to keep your flowers away from ripening fruit and food (in a fridge or in your workspace) as well as pets! Designing flowers can be messy - make sure you have a way to dispose of your cut stems. Having a broom, dust pan and compost bin handy is essential!

How do I transport my flowers?
Depending on the size of your order, I'd recommend you bring an suv or van (or 2 or 3) for pick-up. Make sure to bring a vehicle that allows the flower temperature to be controlled (i.e. an suv or van) - you don't want your flowers in the bed of an open pick-up truck or in the trunk of a sedan. Keep your air-conditioning on when transporting and be careful going around turns and steep hills. Also, brake gently! I'll supply cardboard boxes for transporting your bud vases, bouquets and vase arrangements. Plastic buckets will be supplied for loose stems. Pack your flowers in tight, (ie group them together) to prevent tipping.
5
Can you deliver to our venue?
Sorry, no. I do not provide delivery or installation services at this time. Many florists have a $5k+ minimum - we save you lots of money by not charging for labor, delivery and installation on wedding/event days!
6
When should I design my arrangements?
You can design your arrangements and bouquets 1-2 days before your wedding. Give yourself plenty of time. Flower arranging can be so FUN but it can also take a significant amount of time - especially if you're not super experienced. Wedding weeks are super busy and last minute things often pop up - make sure to assemble a team of friends/fam to help you design!
7
Do you provide design assistance or guidance?
Design assistance and guidance may be available on certain dates for bulk bucket orders. Reach out directly to see if this is a possibility for your wedding or event. This option typically includes me creating a "recipe" for you - and may include a sample bud vase or arrangement for an additional fee. I love chatting flowers and helping people to design beautiful things!

What else should I know?!
Make sure to use clean vases and lots of fresh cool water! Remove all leaves from below the surface of the water- this will help to prolong the life of your flowers. Always use sharp clippers - dull tools will crush your stems and may cause your flowers to prematurely wilt.
You've got this :)
